Why You Should Build a Custom Home.
05.03.12
As spring arrives and we begin to see some signs of economic improvement on the horizon, many people’s thoughts are envisioning a new home. Some clients have asked if it makes sense to build a custom home and there are many reasons to build to do so.
If you want a home that suits your style with a well-thought out floor plan and is designed around your daily life, nothing compares to custom. Oftentimes, people consider buying a home that’s a really good deal, but spend more money than they bargain for to modify or upgrade it to their family’s needs. A custom home reflects your style in every detail, from the exterior design and colors to how the interior flows.
A custom home is sized to fit your lifestyle and budget. Simply put, more square footage costs more to build and maintain. With a custom home, you can maximize the value of every square foot and customize it for the way your family lives, so you won’t pay for wasted space, i.e. home maintenance, landscaping or heating and air, to name a few.
Additionally, when building a custom home, you and your builder have the exclusive opportunity to make certain that it fits your homesite. You can orient your home to get the perfect view of a lagoon or golf course or design it to maintain privacy and enjoy the natural beauty of your surroundings.
In designing and building a custom home, everything works together beautifully to fit your family’s needs, tastes and lifestyle. And when you deal with H2 Builders, a contractor who can help you think outside of the box, the results are certain to be as distinct as you are.

This and a good bourbon…or Negroni. The client directive was a moody lounge for cocktails or a cozy tv night.

The dining and kitchen of our recent project. With a nod to European design, the design elements included stone, marble, plaster, chevron oak floors, and detailed millwork details. The client’s original vision brought to life through selections and careful attention to the design details. We take a lot of pride in the work and thoughtfulness that goes into the many decisions that go into design of this detail and are thankful for the partners that make projects like this possible.

This Palmetto Bluff retreat’s floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive screened-in porch are an open invitation for brighter moments and sunlit luxury. This time of year, we’ll gladly welcome every ray of sunshine. ☀️

This bathroom in one of our most recent projects is so beautiful. Not only because of the materials used but craftsmanship in the details. That brass wet room wall is just stunning!
